Kim has worked for some of the world’s leading and most innovative brands including Landor, Apple, Facebook, and Coursera. She is a strategic leader and full stack marketer with deep experience in multi-sided marketplaces, technology, and education. Since leaving her CMO role in Dec 2022, Kim has focused on helping mission-driven companies grow. She has advised many B2B and B2C companies in digital health, edtech, and fintech. She often works with CEOs and boards on developing their growth strategy, honing product market fit, and hiring marketing leadership.
In her 8 years at edtech unicorn turned public B Corp Coursera, she helped the company grow 5x to $500M in revenue in her 5 years as CMO. She worked with the founders to define Coursera’s brand, refined Coursera’s monetization model, launched and grew enterprise and degree business segments globally, led in times of crisis, and helped the company through IPO. She is best known for pioneering a freemium data-driven acquisition model that much of the industry is now trying to replicate.
Prior to Coursera, Kim spent 5 years at Facebook where she launched brand and performance marketing campaigns in >60 markets, ran product marketing for Facebook’s Android and feature phone apps, and helped advertisers build their brands. She also worked in iPhone app marketing at Apple, brand consulting at Landor, and private label development with retailers at Daymon Worldwide. Kim received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
